There’s a reason the Old Testament ends with Malachi 4:6. It isn’t a soft, forgettable closing line. It’s a line that punches the air with urgency: “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” This is God’s final word before 400 years of silence. Think about that. Before the dawn of Jesus, before the breaking of light, God points to the family. Not the throne room. Not the marketplace. Not the temple. The family.
That should stop us in our tracks.

Father,
